Hole 6 of 9
Hole 6
Par 5A reachable par five that tempts the longer hitter to go for it in two.
About this hole
A classic risk-reward par five where the big pine in the centre of the fairway dictates how the hole is played. There is a chance for stronger players to set up a shot at the green in two, but the safer route is often the smarter way to manage the tight, well-guarded finish.
Pro tip
Use the big pine as your guide from the tee. Taking the left side on with enough carry can open up the chance to reach in two, but the safer play is to work right of the tree, lay up to around 100 yards and approach the green from a better angle.
Common mistake
Going for the green from too far back. The entrance is tight, with out of bounds left and behind, plus water to the right, so an ambitious second shot can quickly turn into a costly one.
