Hole 3 of 9
Hole 3
Par 4A long, demanding par four — one of the toughest tests on the course, where length and accuracy both matter.
About this hole
The longest of the front-nine par fours and, at stroke index five, one of the sternest tests on the course. It simply demands two well-struck shots: find the fairway off the tee and you have a clear sight of the green, but the length leaves little margin, and a loose drive into the trees down either side quickly turns a par into a scramble.
Pro tip
Take enough club off the tee to leave a manageable approach, but keep it straight — at this length, finding the fairway matters far more than chasing distance.
Common mistake
Forcing the drive to make the hole shorter. Length is the real test here, but swinging out of your shoes brings the trees down the sides into play and leaves an awkward second — a controlled drive and a committed approach is the percentage way to a par.
